Jenny Downham gives a description about
the tragic destiny of a young girl and her family.
The enjoyment of
luck turns
into shattered illusions. The whole family knows that
the
young
girl, called Tessa, only lives a few months. Despite all the operations, the drugs and the tests against leukemia, she has
a hardly chance to survive. For this
reason, the year-old girl
constructs a list,
which she wants to convert before she dies.
In implementing her plans, she gets aid from her
friend called Zoey.
The experience she
wants to do have no limits. The first thing which stand on the list is: 'have sex'. Furthermore there
stands: `do
forbidden things', like shoplifting or driving a car. Moreover she wants to
say only -yes- a whole day long. She doesn't matter if she breaks
the
rules or doing illegal
things.
On the same day
where she writes
the
list, she realized the first plan. Firstly it is
only the plan, but out of
that
it devises true love. On the one hand Tessa wants to be in a relationship with the boy called Adam, but on the other
hand she knows that her time is running out.
Lastly they're in a relationship. At the end of
the
book Tessa
is dying in the arms of
Adam. Her father has done everything that Tessa
stay
alive but nevertheless she dies.
Tessa is
quite selfish and has dreams which
exceed her own
possibilities. Although
she loves her family and friends, but sometimes she acts touchy and unfriendly. But that's what she
makes a normal person.
I would give the book five stars
out of
five because it's a real page-turner.
You won't want to put down
once you start reading. It's very emotional you can laugh
and cry a lot by reading
this book. Furthermore it
is a book which inveigled someone for thought and which touches
a lot of
emotions. The book is very versatile; moreover I realize how beautiful life is. Lastly I
would recommend this book to all because you simply have to read it )
