Jim and Jeff
When I was an au-pair girl, I had to look after two terrible children named Jim and Jeff. One afternoon they were nowhere to be found. I looked for them everywhere in our city, but I didn't find them. I was so scared of loosing my new job, and I didn't want to think about what could happen to them. Three weeks ago I'd got my new job as an au-pair girl, but the twins never liked me. Every day they played another trick on me.
Only in front of their parents they liked me, but when the grown-ups had been gone they were strange and cheeky.
While I was looking for them, I decided to phone their parents. I took my mobile phone out of my bag and called Mrs. Haller. "Hello Missy", she shouted into the telephone, because it was so loud in the back, "What's the matter?! Is everything alright with Jim and Jeff?!" With fear I answered, "Erm.yes.no, I'm so sorry, but they are nowhere to be found.!" "Oh my goodness, Jim, Jeff my two little, cute boys lost in New York City?!" she shouted, "I can't believe!!! Ok, Marissa! Where are you now?!" "Now I'm in the 7th Baker Street, next to the Marc Spencer Museum!" "Ok, that's good; we come there in 10 minutes!"
I felt so bad, lost boys, a nervous mother, a sad father, what should they think about me?! An 18-year-old girl, who isn't able to look after 5-year-old twins?! After a few minutes they arrived at the Marc Spencer Museum. Mrs. Haller looked scared, worried and very nervous and her husband, looked very worried too. When I looked into their faces, I remembered that they had tears in their eyes, and with every moment they seemed to be sadder. I couldn't believe what I did to them.
Some weeks ago, when I got my job, they told me, that they are so proud of the boys, because Mrs. Haller thought, that she hadn't been able to give birth to a child, but five years ago Jim and Jeff were born and had became an important part in the parents live.
"We must go to police!" Mr. Haller said to me and took me by the hand.
At the police force the policeman was very angry with me and shouted a lot. Mrs. Haller took me by my hand and whispered into my left ear," It happened and we can't return it, but with our hope, we'll find them." She was so friendly and nice in every way, but I knew that she was angry with me too, because I've lost her boys in New York City. When we went out of the police office, we all thought, and tried to find out where they could be. "Yes they always sang a song to me!" I said and considered,
"Every day, every week, always cheek, but one day in our live we'll spend in Down Town and that will be nice!" "That is it Missy", Mr. Haller shouted happy and we went on to buy us some underground station tickets. When we arrived in Down Town we went to the Mickey Mouse Park. We looked for them in every part of the park. After an hour Mrs. Haller started to cry.
"I can't believe", she said," My two little boys are lost in big New York City.! Where shall we look for them?!" I didn't want to cry with her, I wanted to help her and so I went on, alone.
I looked for them in every part of the park and suddenly I heard some noises:"Missy! Come on! Please help us!" I knew that voice, it was Jim. I was so lucky, I can't say. But in the same moment I saw that Jim's left foot was hurt, and that he wasn't able to go along. So I carried him to his parents, they were sitting on an old park bench. "Mom, Dad we love (to entertain) you!" The grown-ups hugged, and kissed their children, and I was standing next to them and had crocodile tears of luck in my eyes.
