First of all he has
to be very persuasive and good in using symbols and rhetoric. This is very
important because in case of a national emergency he has to tell people what to
do and what they shouldn´t. In the special case of the Oklahome bombing he suceeded
in uniting a whole nation after such an awful crime. The political system in
the USA requires presidents who own a lot of personal charm in order to raise a
lot of money for their election campaign.
Besides he has to
hold on a moral code which belongs more to New England in the 1600 than to the
reality of modern life in America. One of the reasons Clinton is still popular
is that he cut off the federal budget deficit and led America´s economy to a
new growth.
